My first attempt at a children’s story. I wrote this with my 2 year old son in mind.
In a sunny little garden, where flowers danced and the sky was blue, there lived a big, friendly dog named Rusty. Rusty was a Rhodesian Ridgeback with a shiny coat and a wiggly tail. Rusty’s favorite person was a curious toddler named Tommy. Every day, they explored their beautiful garden together.
—
“Look, Rusty!” Tommy giggled, pointing at bright butterflies fluttering by. Rusty barked happily, his tail wagging like a little tornado. They loved to chase the bugs!
—
One sunny morning, Tommy and Rusty ventured out, ready for another adventure. Tommy wore his little hat, and that made him feel like a brave explorer. “Let’s find the b-u-g-s!” he squealed.
—
Rusty sniffed the air, his big nose leading the way. They discovered a bumblebee buzzing around a sunflower. “Bzzz, bzzz!” went the bee, and Rusty tilted his head, curious. Tommy clapped his hands. “Look, Rusty! A bee!”
—
Then, they spotted a shiny green beetle creeping up a leaf. Tommy leaned in closer. “What’s that, Rusty?” The dog wagged his tail, as if to say, “Let’s find out!”
—
As they explored, they laughed and played, finding ladybugs and grasshoppers hiding in the grass. Each discovery made Tommy giggle louder, and Rusty licked his little friend’s cheek, joining in the fun.
—
At the end of their adventure, they plopped down on the soft grass, side by side. Tommy yawned. “Best day ever, Rusty,” he whispered, and Rusty gave a soft bark, dreaming of tomorrow’s bug hunt in their wonderful garden.
A lovely story.
Loved this story!
